These are the weekly charter fees on eight published listings, read on 29 October 2026, before APA, VAT and tip. Each row is one yacht, not a market average.

Mythos's figures include its separate, mandatory crew charge of €3,300: the listed fee is €5,350 to €6,350, plus that charge. Its APA is a flat €3,500. The two 45 m yachts show how much age and refit matter: Xana's published rates are roughly 1.8 to 2 times Something Cool's, which was built in 1981 and refitted in 2023.
How much more July and August cost
Two yachts publish month-by-month rates. They show how much the peak adds on those yachts; they are not a national rule.
| Month | D2, 19 m power catamaran (2026 rates) | Share of peak | Corali, 51 ft sailing catamaran (2027 rates) | Share of peak |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| May | €33,000 | 69% | €9,950–€15,600 | 46–72% |
| June | €40,500 | 84% | €15,600–€18,300 | 72–84% |
| July to August | €48,000 | 100% | €18,300–€21,800 | 84–100% |
| September | €40,500 | 84% | €12,870–€18,300 | 59–84% |
| October | €33,000 | 69% | €12,100–€12,870 | 56–59% |
On D2, the cheapest months cost 69% of the peak rate. On Corali, spring and late autumn weeks cost as little as 46% to 59%. Larger motor yachts on the listings we read have a smaller gap: Kalimera's lower rate is about 86% of its higher rate. The best time for a yacht charter in Greece covers weather and wind by month.
What is extra on top of the weekly rate
Most Greek crewed charters are sold plus expenses: the weekly fee covers the yacht, the crew and the yacht's insurance, and you pay the running costs of your week on top.
- APA, the Advance Provisioning Allowance: an advance the captain spends on fuel, food, drinks and port costs, accounted for with receipts. D2, Corali and Xana ask 30% of the fee; Mythos asks a flat €3,500. See what APA is and how it works.
- VAT on the charter fee. How it applies depends on the service, the yacht and the itinerary, and the listings we read state different rates for their own yachts.
- Cruising tax (TEPAI): a Greek levy on leisure and professional yachts, charged by length and by time in Greek waters. Greece's tax authority, AADE, lists professional yachts chartered in full among those that pay it. Ask whether it is passed on to you.
- Tip: at your discretion. D2's listing suggests 7% to 15%; Boatbookings listings suggest 10% to 20%.
- Delivery fee if you start away from the yacht's base. Happy, Kalimera and Milgauss are based in Athens and list other ports as optional starts.
MYBA terms means the standard charter contract of the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association, under which the fee covers the yacht and crew and you pay running costs through the APA. The larger yachts we read (Kalimera, Milgauss, Something Cool, D2) are offered on MYBA terms. Smaller crewed catamarans often use the operator's own contract with meals built in: Corali's includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and up to two dinners a week.
Illustration: eight guests on a sailing catamaran in August
| Line | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Charter fee | higher rate | €30,500 |
| APA | 30% of €30,500 | €9,150 |
| Tip | 10% to 15% of €30,500 | €3,050–€4,575 |
| Illustrative budget before VAT | €42,700–€44,225 | |
| Per guest (8) | about €5,340–€5,530 |
At Happy's lower rate of €15,000, the same lines come to €21,000 to €21,750 before VAT, about €2,630 to €2,720 per guest. The APA is reconciled against receipts, so the amount actually spent may be higher or lower. Flights, transfers, meals ashore and any delivery fee are extra. Compare the weekly cost of a crewed charter in other regions and Croatia.
What to ask your broker
- Which VAT rate applies to this yacht and route, on what basis, and is it in the quote?
- Is there a separate crew charge, and is the rate for this season or last?
- Is the contract MYBA or the operator's own, and which meals are in the fee?
- What has the APA come to on this yacht for similar weeks?
- Is the Greek cruising tax included or passed on?
- Is there a delivery fee to start somewhere other than the yacht's base?
When this is not the right choice
- You want one fixed price. Greek yachts are mostly quoted plus expenses; some crewed catamarans elsewhere are sold as all-inclusive packages.
- You are two people on a tight budget. Island hotels or a small-ship cruise will usually cost less per person.
- You want calm crossings in August. The Aegean meltemi can make passages rough; ask about the Ionian or the Saronic Gulf, or another month.
Questions people ask
How much does a Greek yacht charter cost per person?
On the illustration above, a 16 m sailing catamaran for eight guests comes to about €5,340 to €5,530 each at its higher rate, with APA and tip but before VAT. Larger motor yachts cost several times more per person. Flights and meals ashore are extra.
What is the cheapest month for a yacht charter in Greece?
Usually April, May and October. On the two yachts that publish monthly rates, those months cost 69% of the peak rate on D2 and as little as 46% on Corali.
Does the price include food and fuel?
Usually not on larger yachts: under MYBA terms, food, drink and fuel are paid from the APA, which is 30% of the fee on most listings we read. Some smaller crewed catamarans include a meal plan, but fuel and port costs are still paid on top.
How much is the deposit?
The listings we read ask 50% of the charter fee on signing, with the balance, the APA and any VAT due some weeks before departure. Your contract sets the exact dates.
How far ahead should I book a Greek charter?
For July and August, as early as you can, because well-known yachts fill their peak weeks first. Shoulder weeks are usually easier to find later. Your broker can check a specific yacht's calendar.
