The 2027 Monaco Grand Prix runs 4–6 June 2027, and the port treats Monday 31 May to Monday 7 June as Grand Prix week. A Zone Sud berth in Port Hercule is published at €22,017 to €189,459 on the eligible commercial yacht tariff, depending on length, and is paid on top of the charter fee, APA, tax on the charter and any tip. Our illustration for a 35 m yacht and 10 guests comes to about €329,000, if the yacht is eligible for that tariff and berth.

The dates
The 2027 Monaco Grand Prix runs Friday 4 to Sunday 6 June 2027, according to Formula 1's official 2027 calendar. The Automobile Club de Monaco's wider event programme starts on 3 June.
For yachts the key dates are wider than the race weekend. The SEPM (Société d'Exploitation des Ports de Monaco, which runs Port Hercule and Fontvieille) treats Monday 31 May to Monday 7 June 2027 as Grand Prix week: a berth taken in that period pays the full Grand Prix fee, whatever the length of stay.
What a Grand Prix berth costs in 2027
These are the SEPM's published 2027 fees for Zone Sud in Port Hercule, sold before its Grand Prix berth commission. Each fee includes a set number of Monaco Ports Lounge passes, which also act as Automobile Club de Monaco passes.

The commercial tariff is only for yachts that provide the required VAT exemption evidence when the berth is requested, and the lounge package within it still carries its VAT. Extra three-day lounge passes (Friday to Sunday, with food and an open bar) cost €6,360 each, VAT included. Passes are handed out from Monday 31 May 2027.
What the yacht itself costs for Grand Prix week
The berth is only part of the budget. A crewed charter (a yacht hired with her captain and crew) is priced per week. The listings in our Charter Price Index show Mediterranean motor yachts of 30–45 m at €90,000 to €148,000 a week on their published season rates, read 29 October 2026. These are standard season rates, not Grand Prix quotes: an owner may quote a different rate for Grand Prix week or sell the full week only, so ask for the Grand Prix rate in writing.
On top of the charter fee:
- APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance): an advance the captain spends on fuel, food, drink and port costs, reconciled with receipts at the end. The 35 m yacht below asks for 35%. See what APA is.
- Tax on the charter fee. Ocean Independence (November 2025) describes Monaco as inside the French VAT area, with 20% applying to a charter handed over there. Ask the broker to confirm the rate and its basis in writing.
- Crew gratuity, at your discretion; Bespoke Yacht Charter (2026) gives 10–15% for the Riviera.
Illustration: a Grand Prix week for 10 guests
| Line | Basis | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Charter fee | Published high-season week (Boatbookings, read 29 Oct 2026), not a Grand Prix quote | €148,000 |
| APA | 35% of the charter fee (listing) | €51,800 |
| Tax on the charter fee | 20% (Ocean Independence) | €29,600 |
| Berth, Zone Sud, 34.50–39.49 m | SEPM commercial tariff, 6 passes included | €59,161 |
| Extra lounge passes | 4 × €6,360 (6 included, 10 guests) | €25,440 |
| Crew gratuity | 10% of the charter fee | €14,800 |
| Illustrative budget | €328,801 |
That is about €32,900 a guest, before flights and transfers. Two points avoid double counting: if the contract draws the berth fee from the APA instead, do not add it twice, and the APA is reconciled against what is spent, so part of it may come back or a top-up may be needed.
Anchoring off Monaco instead
Anchoring offshore and coming ashore by tender usually costs less than a Zone Sud berth, but it gives no berth in the Grand Prix port. The SEPM also sells berths in other zones and at Fontvieille, across the headland; their prices are not in the Zone Sud brochure, so ask. Our French Riviera cost page covers the coast either side.
What to ask your broker
- Does the yacht already hold a Grand Prix berth, in which zone, and what is the view from it?
- Does she qualify for the SEPM's commercial tariff, and what evidence is needed?
- Is the berth fee in the charter price, drawn from the APA, or billed separately?
- What is the Grand Prix rate, and is it for the full week only?
- How many lounge passes come with the berth, and what are the lounge's age and access conditions?
- What happens to the charter and the berth fee if the race is cancelled or held without spectators?
When this is not the right choice
- You only want to watch the race. A grandstand seat or a single hospitality pass costs a small share of a yacht week.
- You want quiet days at anchor. Grand Prix week is one of the busiest weeks in the port; the weeks either side are usually calmer.
Questions people ask
What are the dates of the 2027 Monaco Grand Prix?
Racing is Friday 4 to Sunday 6 June 2027, according to Formula 1's official calendar. Port Hercule's Grand Prix berth period runs from Monday 31 May to Monday 7 June 2027, and a berth in that window pays the full Grand Prix fee.
Who sets yacht berth prices for the Monaco Grand Prix?
The Société d'Exploitation des Ports de Monaco (SEPM), which runs the ports of Monaco. For 2027 its Zone Sud fees run from €22,017 to €189,459 on the eligible commercial yacht tariff, or €23,876.40 to €209,542.80 on the standard tariff with VAT.
Do Grand Prix berths include race access?
Each Zone Sud berth includes between 2 and 14 Monaco Ports Lounge passes, depending on the yacht's length, and each pass also counts as an Automobile Club de Monaco pass. Extra three-day passes cost €6,360 each, VAT included.
Is a charter for Grand Prix week more expensive than a normal week?
The berth fee is added, and an owner may quote a different rate for Grand Prix week or sell the whole week only. A published season rate is not a Grand Prix quote, so ask the broker for the Grand Prix rate in writing.
